Troy High School’s English Department boasts a talented group of educators with a wide range of specialties dedicated to supporting their students through standards-based instruction and socio-emotional learning. At Troy High School, we recognize that supporting our students as they achieve excellence in language arts is foundational and integral to their success in all of their content areas.

 

Building our students’ skills through rigorous critical thinking, reading and writing, speaking and listening supports their learning in all of their coursework and prepares them for their future university studies. In addition to our commitment to the robust curriculum, our department goes above and beyond to cultivate lifelong learners who love reading and who have ample opportunities to discover their voices as writers and scholars.

 

Additionally, our teachers are heavily invested in our school culture--not only do we dedicate our service and talent to our students in the classroom, we hold school leadership positions, we coach, and we advise multiple school organizations and clubs. As such, we know our students inside the classroom and beyond. Our close connections with our students and our exceptional expertise give us a unique advantage as educators who can cater to our students’ unique gifts and needs.
